CURRENCY VALUES AS A SUBJECT OF CRIME: ISSUES OF DETERMINING THE VALUE

Issues of determining the value of currency values and its impact on qualification when currency values are the subject of a crime or used for the value expression of illegal actions are considered. The existing procedure for determining the value of currency values using the official CBR rate is critically evaluated. It is pointed out that at present the guilty person is charged with a sum much larger than they can actually receive when converting currency values into rubles. It is necessary to establish the actual (market) value of foreign currency and external securities.
