Abstract:

At the moment, the thesis that forensics is an independent category of knowledge is beyond doubt, however, we cannot dispute the fact that it was developed on the basis of and under the direct influence of other sciences of the criminal law cycle, in particular, criminal procedure, criminal law, etc. Accordingly, the terminological apparatus of forensics was formed on the basis of many borrowings from the terminology of criminal law sciences. On the other hand, forensics successfully combines the achievements of natural, technical, economic, and social sciences, and this also significantly expands the range of terms used in theory and practice. The author proposes to use the modelling method for a deeper and more comprehensive analysis of the terminological system of forensics. In particular, the author, by using the modelling method, identifies categories of forensic concepts with a certain sequence of meanings, hierarchical relationships within each of them, and this, in turn, allows us to consider them comprehensively, within a single forensic terminological system.

Key words:
