Abstract: 

The essential of the functioning of the university is its integration in the universal cooperation while the university as an open system should not be confined by national boundaries. International legal tools of educational and academic integration are studied. The historical background of the international network of the Soviet legal education is analysed with reference to the experience of the Sverdlovsk Law Institute. The current international cooperation of the Ural State Law University is outlined.
