Abstract: 

The article reveals the main vectors of the Russian legal education evolution that are based on the theory of contextual education. It proves the need for the integral process of legal education as the unity of education, training and development of the competent personality of a lawyer. It is noted that the effectiveness of the educational process depends on the content and nature of the pedagogical interaction of students and law teachers of the creative scholarly tradition. The influence of the life path vector through the individual biographies of prominent legal scholars of the ural scientific school of law on the development of Russian law and legal education is shown. The article presents the ideal structural model of the competent personality of a law teacher, whose professionally significant qualities largely determine the development ways of legal education.
