The article gives a criminal-legal analysis of the amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation adopted in June 2017. These changes resulted in the establishment of additional mechanisms of addressing actions aimed at encouraging children to commit suicide. Using the materials of investigative and judicial practice the authors explore the issues of qualification of bringing or inducing children to suicide as well as assisting their suicide with the use of the Internet. It is proposed to amend the criminal legislation and to consider such crimes grave and especially grievous.
