Abstract: 

The article is devoted to the analysis of the electoral law transformation under the widespread digitalization in modern Russia. The author examines the legal nature of the transformation of electoral law and points to the practice of applying new electoral procedures, as well as the ambiguity of the legislator’s approaches to the legal regulation of this sphere of public relations. The advantages and disadvantages of e-voting are mentioned. The author studies the possible forms of influence of the new voting method on the principles of electoral law and process, and also proposes some changes to the current electoral legislation that, according to the researcher, may improve the procedure for expressing the will of citizens in the context of global digitalization.
