Abstract: 

The article analyses the prospects for normative consolidation and subsequent legal regulation of digital technologies, namely big data, internet of things, blockchain, cryptocurrency and smart contracts. The authors conclude that, despite the efforts made by a domestic legislator, the legal regulation of cross-cutting digital technologies in Russia is only in its infancy. The laws in this domain are fragmented and do not show a common and systematic view of the future legal regulation of the use of digital technologies, but provide a basis for further development in this area.
