Abstract: 

The purpose of the article is to identify various definitions and classifications of persons who are classified as insiders in accordance with foreign countries legislation. The authors generalize the distinctive elements of an insider introduced by foreign laws, and reveal the features of primary and secondary insiders. The findings of the study can be taken into account when improving the legal regime of insider information in Russia.
