Abstract:
Based on the published materials and clerical documents (staff orders, protocols, reports), the article presents the history of formation of the scientific library of the Ural State Law University in 1918–1934. The authors examine how the library stocks were forming, how the staffing matter was being resolved, how much money librarians earned, what challenges they faced and how they participate in the first socialistic competition among higher education institutions in 1933.
