Abstract: 

The article provides a comparative analysis of constitutional legislation on the freedom of peaceful assembly in the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Germany. The author focuses on the examination of the notification procedure applied by the organizers of public assemblies in Russia and Germany. In particular, the methods and means of notification, its addressee and deadlines for notification are investigated. Based on the comparative research, the author provides recommendations regarding possible use of the German experience for improving the procedure of notification in Russia. In particular, the author proposes to adopt the online-notification procedure, to change the addressee and the procedural period of notification about a public assembly.
