Abstract:

The article describes the main methodological technique that is tested and recommended for criminological study of the significant properties of a juvenile person. The basis of this approach is the survey method in a form of questionnaire surveys of subjects whose assessments have comparable meaning. The author’s surveys of juveniles, as well as of experts, are presented. It is noted that, thanks to a comparative analysis of the results of the survey of «advantaged» and «disadvantaged» juveniles, professional assessments of experts in conjunction with the materials of judicial practice and statistical indicators of juvenile delinquency, it becomes possible to compile a criminological portrait of a juvenile person.
