WTO LAW IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM OF MACAO

The article reveals the historical path of Macao’s membership in the WTO and analyzes the implementation of WTO law in the modern legal system of Macao in several aspects, including foreign trade, intellectual property protection and banking services. After the restoration of the sovereignty 
of the PRC over Macao, Macao still maintains a free and open economic policy. Macao, as a worldfamous free port, obeys the WTO rules, in the field of trade, services and investments. Macao also provides foreign investors with a national treatment to attract more investment for economic development.
