Abstract: 

For more than two years in the Russian Federation there has been a new ground for termination of an employment contract by the employer for actions (omissions) entailing the loss of trust (para. 71 of p. 1 of Art. 81 of the Labour Code). For the correct application of this ground the range of persons, subject to it, should be clearly set. But it’s rather difficult because para. 71 of p. 1 of Art. 81 of the Labour Code contains references to other articles of the Labour Code and other federal laws and regulatory legal acts of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation. Moreover, it is necessary to reveal the differences between those persons who could be dismissed due to the loss of trust in ethical sense and those who could be dismissed due to the loss of trust in economic sense.
