LEGAL REGULATION OF ORGANIZATION AND ACTIVITIES OF THE RUSSIAN PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE IN 1722–191

The article described the history of legal regulation of organization and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office in Russia since its establishment in 1722 until 1917. Th e most fundamental legislative changes related to the status and functions of the Prosecutor’s Offi ce are investigated. Special att ention is paid to the legislation on organization and activities of the Prosecutor’s Offi ce in Russia on the stage of its establishment and initial development during the reign of Peter I.
