INSTITUTE OF PUNISHMENT IN THE CRIMINAL LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF YEMEN

There are different forms of imposing punishment – by Islamic Charia and Criminal Code – in Yemen. In every case the court takes into account various circumstances (interest of Moslem community and victims on one side or degree of public danger of making crime, personality of criminal on other side). In such a way difference of sources of criminal law of the YR generates complexity of its interpretation and application.
