INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ RIGHTS PROTECTION WITHIN INTER-AMERICAN SYSTEM OF HUMAN RIGHTS

In the article are examined issues, connected with Inter-American Court on Human Rights’ activity in the field of indigenous peoples’ rights protection. On the specific case there is considered its role in the field of American Indians’ rights on the original lands and resources. For the first time in international relations there was the court’s decision in support to territorial claims of indigenous peoples. In the end there is made a conclusion about increasing interest to indigenous peoples’ rights on American continents, where an important role today is given to the United States of America.
