BURIALS OF FOREIGN PRISONERS OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR IN THE KIROV REGION: THE RESULTS OF SEARCH AND IMPROVEMENT WORKS

The number and deployment of camps for foreign prisoners of the Great Patriotic War and special hospitals of the NKZ USSR, placed in the Kirov region, are investigated. It is established that during the War and early post-War years, there were 30 offices of four camps for prisoners of war and 11 special hospitals in the region. The approximate number of deaths of foreign citizens is determined, the current state of the surveyed graves is described. The author shows the improvement of foreign military cemeteries in accordance with international agreements of the Russian Federation.
