The article examines the experience of the Italian Republic in receiving and accommodating refugees on its territory. The research is based on the analysis of Italian legislation aimed at creating a reception system for refugees in accordance with the international and regional human rights standards. The authors analyze different activities of state and local authorities ensuring an adequate standard of living for asylum-seekers.
