The article analyzes the practice of courts’ consideration of verdicts and other contested decisions on appeal. The authors conclude that it is necessary to amend the criminal procedural legislation. The changes should allow not to initiate appeal proceedings if there are technical errors that do not affect the essence of the decision taken by the court in the first instance.
