ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF METHODS OF COGNITION OF LAW AND STATE

The article attempts to analyze the methods used in theory of law and state. An original method of dialogue, discursive analysis applied by Plato was one of the first original methods of learning power and state. The author believes that a system of legal methods began to develop in 13th century. The first of them was a method of scholasticism, legal speculation, later methods of interpretation of law were formed. In the 20^th century a formal legal method became one of the most widely used tools. Currently, the range of methods used in jurisprudence is quite broad and sometimes includes such original methods, as a method of synergy, a hermeneutic method and others.
