THE PROBLEM OF INNER MONGOLIA WITHIN A CONTEXT OF THE RIGHT TO USE THE OWN LANGUAGE
Article:
Inalienability of the right to use the own language is regarded as one of the main arguments of Inner Mongolia’s separatists. The problem’s preconditions and the consolidation potential of the Pan-Mongolism concerning Greater Mongolia are revealed. The author describes language policy of the PRC. The central authorities’ policy pursued to defense and develop the Mongolian language is critically assessed. Relying on the thorough analysis of sources, the author concludes that the Chinese government’s measures of guaranteeing the right of other peoples to use their own language turn out to be pretentious. The example of Mongolia and EU is given to show the position of foreign authors on the problem of using the Mongolian language.
