DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AND THE LEGAL SYSTEM

The article critically rethinks the approaches existing in the legal literature regarding the use of digital technologies in law. It is noted that there are extreme judgments regarding the prospects of technologizing the legal sphere, improving the existing legal system with the help of artificial intelligence and other innovations. Three vectors of development and transformation of law in connection with the technological revolution are discussed: possible dehumanization of law, algorithmization of law, individualization (personification) of legal regulation. Theoretical problems, social risks and other negative consequences of the technological revolution are also the subject of analysis. According to the author the purpose of applying technological innovations should not be to oust humans from the legal sphere by robots, cyborgs, artificial intelligence or dehumanize law, but to promote the further movement of society along the path of legal progress.
