The article is devoted to the problem of the involvement of Russian youth in terrorist and extremist organizations and the participation of civil society in its solution. The psychological characteristics and social factors contributing to the radicalization of young people, including dysfunctional families, social and domestic problems and the influence of destructive ideologies in social networks, are investigated. The article reveals the main methods of recruiting young people into extremist and ter rorist organizations, analyzes the reasons for the increased vulnerability of young people to radical ideology. Special attention is paid to the problem of illegal migration as a factor in the spread of terrorism. The author suggests a comprehensive approach to countering the involvement of young people in extremist and terrorist organizations based on the interaction of the state and civil society. The successful practices of civil society participation in countering the involvement of young people in extremist and terrorist organizations are considered. A number of proposals have been formulated to involve civil society in the prevention of youth radicalization, including digital volunteer projects and programs for the social adaptation of migrants.
