THE CONCEPT OF SOCIO-LEGAL DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONS OF G. VICO

The article examines the concept of socio-legal development of nations by the Italian thinker of the XVIII c. Giambattista Vico, his ideas about the «ideal eternal history», its general laws, about human inclinations that contribute to social progress. The author analyzes the stages of the progressive movement of nations highlighted by the author of the «New Science», as well as the general and special legal criteria of social progress taken by him as a basis. In the final part of the article the author’s concept is evaluated, its advantages and disadvantages are formulated.
