SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN THE EU AND THE EAEU: NEW CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

The article examines the role of science and its mechanisms, including science diplomacy, for establishing a constructive dialogue between the EU and the EAEU. The authors highlight the regulatory and organizational obstacles to cooperation of the regional integration organizations in the field of science and innovation. Proposals for the development of scientific and technical cooperation between the EU and the EAEU are formulated, taking into account the existing challenges and strategic priorities for the development of regional integration associations. The joint counteraction of the common challenges is identified as the priority area of scientific and technical cooperation between the EU and the EAEU at the present stage in order to achieve the sustainable development goals at the global, regional and national levels.
