FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THE INTERNATIONAL LEGAL DIMENSION

Freedom of speech, enshrined at the international level – universal and regional, remains the most important and necessary aspect of the functioning of civil society and the building of the rule of law. At the domestic level, the exercise and protection of this freedom face serious restrictions. The author, relying on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, reveals certain elements of freedom of speech and admissible restrictions on this freedom, including those that are admissible in the context of the rights of other people, the interests of society and the state.
