Abstract: 

The article is devoted to the composition of a permanent arbitration court, the last amendments to the legislation concerning the organization and activities of permanent arbitration institutions, and qualifications required of applicants for the arbitrator’s post. The author analyses the public reports of the Council for the Improvement of Arbitration at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for the period from its creation to April 1, 2020. In order to develop arbitration and increase the number of permanent arbitration courts, it is proposed to adjust the requirements for the composition of a permanent arbitration court, in particular, to expand the list of academic specialities approved by the Ministry of Justice of Russia, and to allow doctors of legal sciences to be an arbitrator of a permanent arbitration court, regardless of their specialization.
