Article:
The author investigates a citizenship that is influenced by development of the international law and the international law of the human rights as a part of it, strengthening of a role of integration processes in the state politics. As a result, it’s transformed to specific forms, which had not been peculiar to it before. One of these forms is a citizenship of the European Union. It’s mentioned that the citizenship of the European Union («the European citizenship» as publicists call it) serves the interests of the Union and the requirements of the European Union states citizens by a direct interaction of the European Union with its citizens, and by vesting citizens with fundamental rights. The author asserts that the European citizenship has been forming over two decades, but does not meet the requirements of the society. So the European Union regulation should unequivocally solve this problem.
