THE EAEU YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW: FROM REGIONAL DISINTEGRATION TO UNION INTEGRATION

The author studies the current problems of the Eurasian Economic Union in the context of the development of unified economic cooperation in the Eurasian space. Particular attention is paid to the challenges, which determines the further existence of the Union. Such challenges include the destruction of the unipolar system of international relations, the formation of a multipolar world order, the unprecedented sanctions policy of the United States and Western countries against the central state of the Union – the Russian Federation, the active growth of the influence of the Asian countries in the international arena, etc. Cooperation between the member states in the energy and financial spheres remains important to the EAEU development, the reasons that hinder the creation of common fuel and financial and currency markets are analyzed. In addition, the paper notes the need to streamline Eurasian legislation, bringing national legislation to a common denominator. Moreover, in the context of the information war, it is impossible not to pay attention to the importance of preserving a common socio-cultural space of the Union, without which the further development of integration processes becomes illusory.
