Abstract: 

The article explains the rationale for the existence of unconventional labour law sources. Taking into account basic characteristics of a labour law source in the traditional sense (a typical source), the author identifies and describes unconventional labour law sources widely used to regulate labour law relationships, notably controversial law enforcement situations. It is highlighted that nowadays unconventional labour law sources include all-Russian sports federations regulations, religious organizations internal establishments, superior courts acts, federal bodies of executive power letters and recommendations, professional ethics codes, legal entities internal instruments, as well as labour law customs and practices.
