Abstract: 

The article examines the history of the development of student science at the Sverdlovsk Law Institute (SLI). The role of students’ participation in scientific activities for the formation of the personality of the future specialist and his professional qualities is comprehended. Attention is drawn to the importance of student science for the succession and development of the personnel potential of the SLI. The authors describe the forms of students’ participation in scientific work, the main of which was student scientific clubs; they show the dynamics of such activity from the post-war period till the early 1990s.
