Abstract: 

The authors study the history of publications from the scientific library of the Ural State Law University, which belong to book monuments. They underline the inexhaustible source-study potential of these books, which allows us to trace the formation of the largest specialized university book collection and to learn more about the past of libraries in Russia from the middle of the 18th to the beginning of the 21st century.
